    3. Mary Beth: The Eichelberger story is the same one as you have. It is sad, but as in the story, "I'll Fight No More Forever" which told of the story of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Indian Tribe (at the end of the story) - "They are all gone now, but their memory lives on in time." This is so true of the Eichelbergers of Winston and Noxubee Counties. They were good, honest, hard working, God-fearing people and contributed much to the early development of our county. However, they moved on to other places and today only the descendants of the Eichelberger slaves live in Winston County. The Eichelbergers that live here today are good folks and have a large family reunion here every two years. They, too, are proud of their past heritage. Hope this will in part answer your question. I was wondering if anyone had a copy they could e mail or snail me to me. Please contact me if you do. I'm wondering if it is the same story that I have a copy of or if it is different. Mine is a story concerning John A. Eichelberger building a train car on wheels for Cousin Johnnie Hobbs. My copy is not very good but it is fairly legible. Would be glad to mail anyone a copy of that and would really appreciate any contact with Eichelberger descendants. My GG Grandfather was William Henry Eichelberger of Winston and Noxubee counties.
