    1. [MSWINSTON] Etiquette on List

    3. Something needs to be said about common courtesy or etiquette for the Winston County List. Seemingly, lately several people will ask a question concerning a family or fact pertaining to Winston County. When an answer is posted to the list a simple "thank you" should be in order and thus posted or mailed privately to the person answering the question or query. Looking back over the last six months, the "thank you" notes have not been forthcoming. This is rude and violates the rule of common courtesy in genealogy. It fits in the class with - "Send me all you have on the ______ Family." My time, like everyone's is limited, and IF I or anyone else answers a query, then "thank you" should be sent. This is a sure way to harm this or any other list. Hope the guilty parties will adhere to this constructive message. I am not trying to get a "war" started, just an observation. If you want to flame me, do not answer on this list, you may address me at: [email protected] Louis Taunton
