My 2 cents about the Crawfords. William H Crawford was a Methodist Minister, his father was Peter Crawford who had a sister Drucilla Crawford. Drucilla.s daughter is the 1st wife of my James Anderson Savage. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~unger Unger Family genealogy http://personal.ayrix.net/~savage1/ Savage Family genealogy Christmas begins it and Easter completes it ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry L. I am | wondering if there is any connection between your Adams family and the | Butler or Crawford families. Just two houses away in household 241, is my | great great grandfather James M. Butler and his family. Please note that | some indexes and the Kathryn Hathcock transcription report this as the | "Button" family but the original census images clearly show "Butler". James | M. Butler's wife was Sarah Crawford and she was born in SC. In the next | house (240) is the family of John Brice Crawford, also born in SC. These | two families moved to Winston Co. between 1841 and 1846 according to the | birthplaces of their children. The Butler family left between 1852 and 1854 | following Sarah's death. I don't know how John Brice Crawford and Sarah | Crawford are related. | | Peter Crawford is another Crawford family that was living in Winston Co. at | this time. His wife Elizabeth Loveless was born in Newberry Co. SC in 1794. | This is getting close to Union Co. SC. | | What do you think of a possible connection here? | | Jerry | | Jerry L. Jim, Your file shows an Ephraim Butler born 22 April 1809 and buried in Webb, MS. Ephram and Moses H. Butler both received land patents in Winston Co. MS in 1841. Is your Ephraim the same as my Ephram? Do you know anything more about these Butler's? Thanks, Jerry Jerry L. Butler Winston Co.
