I'm starting to research the ancestors of my husband who were in Winston Co, Miss. from approximately 1840 to 1870, when some of them moved to Texas. Specifically, I'm looking for more information on Thomas W(illiam?) Butler and wife Mary Frances Ellis, who appear in the 1850 census in Neshoba Co.. Thomas's second wife was Minnie, maiden name unknown, in the 1870 census, Winston Co. Thomas can't be found in the 1860 census (moving before the war?) Thomas's daughter Doveann "Dovie" Ella Rebecca Butler, married William Columbus Hudspeth, son of William Jasper Hudspeth, in Louisville, 21 Oct 1886. Both are said to have been born in McCool, Attala Co. Their children were all born in Texas. I have good information on the Hudspeths, but need more on the Butlers. Some of Dovie's siblings went to Texas; some of them stayed in Mississippi. I've mined the census records, but am still missing a lot of information.
