    3. Martin Luther Crosby, son of William O. Crosby and Martha Annie Freeny, was born in 1881 in probably Winston County. Mary Pearl Long was the daughter of John N. Long and Lucinda Whitten of Winston County. Mary and her sister Lummie Long were orphaned in 1896 when their father John died, their mother Lucinda having died previously. After their father's death, Mary and Lummie Long were taken in by their first cousin John Bailey and aunt Mary Bailey of Choctaw County. Martin Luther (M.L.) Crosby and Mary Pearl Long were married in Choctaw County in 1901. M.L.'s WWI draft registration card listed his address as Houston, Chickasaw County, Mississippi with an occupation as a telephone exchange worker with Cum. Telephone and Telegraph Company. Mary and M.L. were listed together with their children on the 1920 Choctaw County census (see below).
