    3. Billy, Thanks for your efforts to help me determine the lineage of Sarah Crawford Butler, b. 1815 SC. Jerry Jerry L. Butler Winston Co. Savage Hello to Nancianne, Jerry, and Jim. My email address is [email protected], and my mailing address still is 240 Cherokee Road, Nashville, TN 37205-1818. Nancianne, I would be glad to hear from you. I have not been very good at keeping in touch with Louisville classmates and friends. I was at the farmhouse in northern Winston County for a week earlier in the month, and I enjoyed the opportunity to visit with lots of friends and family in Winston, Oktibbeha, and Choctaw counties. I attended a meeting of our committee, created in May of last year, to oversee the replacement of the cemetery fence at Bethel Methodist Church on the Winston-Oktibbeha county line. The new fence will be completed by the 4th Sunday in May, the date of the only scheduled service at the old church. My Weeks ancestors in 1874 left Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in northern Winston County to be founding members of Bethel Church, located closer to their home. Pleasant Hill Church is in the hills on the east side of the Noxubee River, and Bethel Church is in the hills on the west side of the Noxubee. The ancestors of Mr. Jim Savage (who started this link of messages) have connections with both churches, also. His widowed ancestor Ann Gillespie Savage married your husband's widowed ancestor James Hamill in 1849. The only child of this marriage was Henrietta Hamill, who married Daniel Suber. Dan and Henrietta were Barry's great-grandparents and were buried in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill Church. The second wife of Mr. Jim Savage's ancestor, James Anderson Savage, was Elizabeth Shaw Savage. Elizabeth was buried in the newer Bethel Cemetery, while her husband and her parents, Wiley Shaw and Drucilla Crawford Shaw, were buried in the older Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Jerry Butler is trying to find a connection between his ancestor Sarah Crawford Butler of northern Winston County and the family of Drucilla Crawford Shaw's brother Peter Crawford. I have not yet been of much help to him in determining the Crawford connection. My mother's Porter ancestors purchased 1,040 acres of Peter Crawford's farm, following his death in 1854. Construction of the Hamill/Porter farmhouse in northern Winston County, where my mother grew to adulthood, was begun in 1859 by Charles Oliver Hamill and was completed to its present size by his son-in-law William Walker Porter in the 1880s. Oliver was an older brother of Henrietta Hamill Suber. Billy Weeks ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry L.
