    3. Mr. Savage: I see that you were provided earlier today with the Savage names from Betheden Cemetery, but here is further information linking them to your lineage. Mrs. Pauline Sloan Savage of Brooksville will be buried tomorrow beside her husband Bennie Savage, Sr. (1921-1983) in the cemetery at Betheden Lutheran Church in northeastern Winston County. Also buried in Betheden Cemetery are Bennie's brother Ozie Savage, Sr., and their parents Walter L. Savage (1890-1967) and Ina Weeks Savage (1887-1969). Ina was my father's first cousin, the daughter of Hiram Bragg Weeks (1862-1950) and Mary Lula Roach Weeks (1866-1943) of northern Winston County, who are buried in the cemetery at Bethel Methodist Church in southwestern Oktibbeha County. Walter's parents were John S. Savage (1869-1950) and Lula Hall Savage (1876-1959), and his grandparents were John F. Savage (1847-1916) and Anjaline Bufkin Savage (1845-1914). All lived in northern Winston County, and all are buried in Bethel Cemetery. John F. Savage, as you know, was the son of James Anderson Savage (1825-1884) and the grandson of John S. Savage (died 1847) who are buried in the cemetery at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in north central Winston County. Billy Weeks

    3. Louis, I've written to you several times over the years regarding my family (John McElroy, b 1807 Ga; d MS 1876). I will for the 1st time be able to do some research in both Henry Country Georgia and I will be arriving in Louisville on the evening of October 3rd (Monday night) and would like to get into the records for Winston County on Tuesday, October 4th for the basic period of 1840-1890-ish. I would like to find birth, marriage, wills and death records along with land records, deeds, etc... If I have enough time. If not, I might be able to come back later on in October. Where do I go and where are the records kept? Name & Address of the person & building I need to contact. Just in case I am a day late Can I get a phone number to make an appointment for that Tuesday? We have been living and working in Saudi Arabia since 1977 and will be on vacation during October, so I need to make good use of my time while I'm able to do so. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Tom Tom McElroy Drilling & Work Over Services Dept. / MAFU Tel.: 876-4770

    3. Jerry I am not sure how to answer this. I have wrong information out there. I would like folks to be aware of this and correct it. I once had a website with this information on it. Kay Rockett also had this information and others. It has now been proven wrong. I just want folks to be aware this is a error. Eliza Jane McELVANY did marry "a" J. E. SHAW on 4 December 1892 in Choctaw County, MS. But not the J. E. Shaw found below. I had J. E. (James Emery Shaw) as my gg-grandfather the son of James and Jane BAGWELL SHAW called "Blind Jim" born abt 1829 in Shelby County, Alabama died after 1900. This is not correct. I would like those that have copied my work to know this. Thank you, Vickye White
