    3. Jeffrey: The correct spelling is Gardnier. Jane married J. D. Blackwood. Jane's brother, Tilford, had a large farm at Cecilia, KY near Elizabethtown, KY. Jane's sister, Mildred, married Victor Brust and died about 3 years ago at Roanoke, VA. Mildred and Victor had two children, John and Jane. Hope this helps. I was wondering if anyone had a copy they could e mail or snail me to me. Please contact me if you do. I'm wondering if it is the same story that I have a copy of or if it is different. Mine is a story concerning John A. Eichelberger building a train car on wheels for Cousin Johnnie Hobbs. My copy is not very good but it is fairly legible. Would be glad to mail anyone a copy of that and would really appreciate any contact with Eichelberger descendants. My GG Grandfather was William Henry Eichelberger of Winston and Noxubee counties. 2. Jeffrey, I believe Jane's children (close to my age) were raised by an Annie Harpole who still lives in Louisville and was a good friend of my parents. If you can't locate her number or address I'm sure I can get it for you. Julia, her daughter, resided in Ackerman, MS the last I heard of her, but don't know her married name. She was married in Louisville the summer of 1972. I'll be glad to get phone #'s or addresses for you if you need. Nancianne

    2. Ken Jackson
    3. The 1850 Census abstraction for Attala County has been transcribed and is now available on line at USGenWeb/RootsWeb at the following URL: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cenfiles/ms/attala/1850/ The 1850 Federal census was the first U. S. Federal census that included the names of all members of a household, their age, sex and color. For adult members of a household, their occupation was also listed. The birthplace of all listed individuals is also shown. It is notated if a couple married within the year or if a child attended school within the year. A notation is also made if the individual could not read or write. The Attala County, Mississippi census enumeration began on 2 September 1850 and was completed on the 9th of November of 1850. However, please bear in mind that the information contained in this census was reflected as of the 1st day of June 1850. This is a valuable tool for those researchers that have not had previous access to these census records. It will also give those individuals that have researched the 1850 Attala census on previous occasions an opportunity to study it more closely at home at their leisure. The 1850 Attala census was abstracted by Helen E. Staten Arnold, a USGenWeb volunteer. Ken Jackson County Coordinator Winston County, Mississippi

    1. Re: [MSWINSTON] The Deeds Are Done!!!
    2. I would like to thank Mary for all her work in putting the deeds on the list. I am a descendant of the Whitten's and I live up north so it would be very costly for me to send off for copies of everything. She set such a good example for me that I have since taken the time to copy all the birth and marriage records of the church I now attend and put it on the county web here in Michigan. I would ask that everyone do so, as it is a great way to save your church records, cuts down the phone calls and letters for information and helps a large number of people who no longer live in the area Faye
