    2. Dear Tim, I was wondering if the Winston Co. marriage books might contain the marriage record (pre-1866) of a Sanford Fulton and Mary (maiden name unknown). I just located their 1880 Census record and based on the births of their children, I would guess they married immediately after the Civil War. If you are able to help, that would be great. Take care. Fulton and thanks to your original help... I located Henry's family (Sanford and Mary Fulton on pg. 86B of the same 1880 Census. I can't thank you enough ! My research challenge continues. John C. 2. Dear Tim, Thank you for looking up the cemetery records for me. I guess there is always a possibility that they moved elsewhere after the 1920 Census was taken. Your assistance (and that of so many dedicated members of this list) have made me very happy. It is truly amazing how much information all have provided in such a short time ! John C. 2. Dear Tim, Thank you so very much for your assistance ! The marriage information you sent confirms exactly what I've learned from the Census records. Now I can concentrate on trying to find out who owned Harrison Anderson and July Hudson prior to the Civil War. I also want to find out when they died / were buried since they were both alive (in Winston Co.) at the time of the 1920 Census. Thank you very much. John C. Sears [email protected]

    2. Dear Barbara, Thank you for your response about my Andersons. Obviously, your information is exactly what I was looking for. Now all I have to do is find the following: 1. When did Harrison and his wife die ? (they were both alive in 1920 Census) 2. Where can I locate their 1870 Census records ? (should be in Winston Co. also) 3. Who owned them prior to Civil War ? (Harrison Anderson's wife's name was July or Julia Hudson). I just learned that they were married in Winston Co. in 1876. Thank you for your help ! I greatly appreciate it. John C. 3. John, I'll check for their names on the 1860 Winston county Slave Schedules. I can also try to find their surnames on the 1870 Census Index at our local library - then I can check the 1870 census online to get that info, if I can find them from the index. 3. Mary Beth: The Eichelberger story is the same one as you have. It is sad, but as in the story, "I'll Fight No More Forever" which told of the story of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Indian Tribe (at the end of the story) - "They are all gone now, but their memory lives on in time." This is so true of the Eichelbergers of Winston and Noxubee Counties. They were good, honest, hard working, God-fearing people and contributed much to the early development of our county. However, they moved on to other places and today only the descendants of the Eichelberger slaves live in Winston County. The Eichelbergers that live here today are good folks and have a large family reunion here every two years. They, too, are proud of their past heritage. Hope this will in part answer your question. I was wondering if anyone had a copy they could e mail or snail me to me. Please contact me if you do. I'm wondering if it is the same story that I have a copy of or if it is different. Mine is a story concerning John A. Eichelberger building a train car on wheels for Cousin Johnnie Hobbs. My copy is not very good but it is fairly legible. Would be glad to mail anyone a copy of that and would really appreciate any contact with Eichelberger descendants. My GG Grandfather was William Henry Eichelberger of Winston and Noxubee counties.
