    3. It will take me a few days to get to my files. BUT I feel certain that we connect and I will be able to help you. What I would like to do is add your line to my records down through you and your children's generations. I am trying to connect all the LOVORN/LOVERNs as I can, quite a few of Us descend from the three brothers who settled in Ms. So I am guessing here. Hughes sound sooo familiar. your line is either from one of my grandfathers brother's or from one of his Uncles. 2. Well, I didn't have much on the Lovorn line until I received this a bit ago. Henry Clark is my Uncle and his older brother William Frank Clark married a Lydia Lovorn. I would need to ask my Mom if Lydia was Ollie Mae's sister or cousin. Book: WINSTON COUNTY And Its PEOPLE Copyrighted 1980 by The Winston County Genealogical and Historical Society Louisville, MS 39339 Compiled by Nancy Randolph Parkes (she is deceased now) pg 39 Ollie Mae Lovorn Clark Ollie Mae Lovorn, eighth child of William Hughes and Maggie Lovorn was born October 10, 1910; married Henry Clark. Ollie Mae died November 8, 1964, and is buried in Detroit, Michigan. (Henry Gilbert Clark d. 4 June 1971) Children are: 1. Jay, b. Aug 1, 1927;(this must be J.W.) married June 26, 1948 to Joyce (b. March 10,1929) Children are: a. Cynthia, b. Jan 23, 1949 Children are 1. Melissa, b. Mar 17, 1969 2. Angel b. Sep 24, 1972 b. Cathy, b. March 26, 1950 Children are 1. Nicole, b. Feb 7, 1970 2. For whatever reason, this book doesn't list the first daughter, MaryLou (Mary Louise) b. 18 July 1930 & d. 31 Aug. 1933. She is buried at Kellis Store in the Clark line. 1. Re: [MSWINSTON] J.W. Clark & his sister, Marilyn Clark
    2. Just a clarrification on the previous posting. I believe Ollie Mae's last name may have been spelled Lovorn and her daughter Marilyn Clark, according to more info that I dug up, is listed as marrying an Ed Rayba. Marilyn's brother, J.W.'s full name was John William Clark, Jr. He was named after his grandfather. The little info that I have shows J.W. Clark as b. between 1925 & 1935 & Marilyn was born sometime not long after. I do know that Ollie Mae & her husband Henry Gilbert Clark were either seperated or divorced when their first daughter Mary Lou died in 1933. They either got back together or remarried and then Marilyn was born. As before, any listers familiar with Ollie Mae Lovorn Clark's family, who might have info on her children, J.W. or Marilyn, I would very much like to hear from you. Sincerely, Gnanse Nelson Henry G. Clark's niece

    1. [MSWINSTON] J.W. Clark & his sister, Marilyn Clark
    2. I am hoping to locate the children of my Uncle Henry Clark. He was the son of John William & Mary Lucy Land Clark Of Kemper Ct. He married Ollie Mae Lovern (spelling?) of Winston Ct. Henry passed away in the 70s in Michigan. His children are J.W. Clark & Marilyn Clark. They may be in Michigan but would have maintained ties with their mother's Lovern kin in Winston. I am the daughter of Henry's youngest sister, Mildred Clark Nelson. I have exstensive ancestoral info on both the Clark and the Land families to share with anyone researching those families. I am hoping someone from this list recognizes these names and can help me and my 18 other cousins as we have all been searching from some time, attempting to reconnect with J.W. & Marilyn. Sincerely, Gnanse Nelson [email protected] New Orleans, LA

    3. Hi List! Does anyone know whether the lunacy records for Winston County circa 1890's are available and, if so, where? Would they be at the Chancery Clerk's office in Louisville or the state archives in Jackson? How would I go about finding the court records for when someone was committed, assuming I knew WHEN they were committed? I believe I may have had at least one, maybe even two, relatives committed to the "insane asylum in Meridian" circa 1890. Someone told me this would have been the East Mississippi Hospital. Can anyone give me more information about this hospital, i.e. its full name, where it was located, is it still open, when did it close, etc? I tell ya' what, ya' gotta have a sense of humor to do genealogy! Thanks for your help! Mary K. Johnson [email protected] http://www.geocities.com/look4whittens/

    3. I recently participated in the Stewart/Stuart DNA project and got an exact match with only one other group so far. That family was the James and Mary Lafferty Stewart family that settled the Cowpasture area of VA in the early 1700's. Do any descendants of Aaron Stewart who came to early Winston County know if this family connects to yours? My William Davis Stuart in Neshoba County was on the 1850 Winston census next door to Aaron Stewart (Jr.) so I thought there might be a connection. Thanks, George Stuart
