I have been going through my old e-mails from years ago and found some great research pages I had forgotten about. this page will take you to maps of the counties at different times. http://www.segenealogy.com/sgo03.htm It is very interesting to go through the years and watch the counties being formed. I knew Wilkinson co., once reached to the Pearl River but I didn't know that when Amite was formed, it was larger than Wilkinson and took in what is now Pike county. There are many searches on this page. Just click on the state of interest and watch the counties form as you go through the years. some searches on the page requires registering for a free two weeks of Ancestry but the maps are free and really worth viewing. They cover the following states. AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ, MY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WV. For those of you with Indian connections: Creek Indian research. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~texlance/main.htm the following page links to most of the tribes. http://www.accessgenealogy.com/native/ happy hunting.
