    2. I can't say which is the oldest African American Church, but I can add just a bit of information. I understand the original "Jerusalem" Church still stands somewhere in Amite Co. (Amite was carved from Wilkinson, carved from Adams) That Church originally served the small community of Gillsburg in south Amite Co (near La border.) When a larger church was built, the Jerusalem Church was sold to an African American group. I'm told it's somewhere near, or off the highway between Liberty and Gillsburg.
