In the 1880 Census, Richard was listed as 1 year old. His father was Pharoah Armstong and his mother was Hannah Smothers. Here is the census of 1880 listing them: P. Hannah vanished after her husband killed Richard in 1929 or 1930, never to be heard from again. My mother was Richard and Rosie's youngest, Virginia. Rosie died just a few months after giving birth to my mother. Diadetes and/or diabetes-related illness claimed the lives of my mother and her siblings. Most died in their 30's and 40's, howver Uncle Frank was in his 90's and my mother was 79. Does any of this information sound familiar to you? Please contact me if it does.
