    3. This info has been sent before but sometimes we have new people & sometimes people find new information. This has been a real mystery. Trying to find the connection of these four James children. My great grandfather was William George King James, son of A(ndrew) J(ohn) James and Margaret Rayfield. I would love to connect him to these four children. As Brenda pointed out, all four are in homes related to Sarah Risher, wife of Thomas Alexander Fontaine--my ancestors Brenda has a special interest because she is a descendant of Thaddeus James. Joel James is not found after 1840. Four James children are living in Risher/Fontaine households: Frances James, born about 1842, in 1850 HH of Sarah Risher Fontaine's brother, Benjamin Amelda/Amelia James, born about 1844, in 1850 HH of SRF daughter, Mary Susannah Carter Thaddeus C. James, born about 1846, in 1860 HH of SRF son, George Fontaine Lucinda James, born about 1847, in 1860 HH of SRF. Lucinda married Rueben Grayson Thomas K. Carter, son-in-law of Sarah Risher Fontaine, has 6 year old Amelda/Amelia James in his household in 1850 and Thomas K. Carter signs marriage license for Thaddeus C. James in 1867. Thaddeus C. James, born July 1846 (according to 1900 Clarke County, MS census). Died March 27,1903, buried at Mont Rose Cemetery, Clarke County, MS. First married Isabella Buck on April 10, 1867, Clarke Co., MS. They had 2 children, Virginia James, born about 1868, and Charley Wallace James, born April 18, 1870. Isabella died about 1873. Thad then married Martha Moore on October 10, 1873, Clarke County, MS, and they had one child, Emmett, born September 1874. Thad died suddenly while working in field. Martha then married Samuel Cockrell. Martha is buried between Thad and Samuel at Mont Rose. Thad enrolled in 14th Mississippi Infantry on 7-23-1861 at Corinth, MS, and was captured at Fort Donelson on 2-16-1862. He was a POW at Camp Douglas, Illinois from 2-16-1862 to 9-2-1862 and then sent to Vicksburg, MS on board the Steamer Jno. H. Done and was exchanged for Union prisioners. I have names of children and other marriages for Almeda if you want those and children and marriages of Virginia James and Charley James.
