Hello... Does anyone on the list have any information regarding a William Scudder s/o John and Rebecca Carp b. ca 1867 in Woodville? I've managed to find Elizabeth Scudder, widow of Thomas and her family in the 1860 census. It appears from the census that Elizabeth might have been a plantation owner. I am interested in ascertaining whether or not William might be connected to her. William is black. Elizabeth and her family are white. There are two black children in the census with the surname Scudder in the 1870 census. They are Ella and Ann. I can find no mention of John Scudder in Woodville. I suspect a connection but cannot determine what it is. Thanks for any help anyone can offer. Regards, Georgia Whitson
