I am researching the BROWN family from MISSISSIPPI. Reuben BROWN was born in Vicksburg, Warren County, MS on January 10, 1829. He married Elizabeth KING on June 4, 1855 in Gloster, Amite County, MS. They had five sons: Cecil Morgan, Jerry Meir, Ferdinand F., JOHN MELVIN (MY GRANDFATHER), Thomas Wesley. They also had seven daughters: Margaret L., Mary M., Indian Elizabeth, Martha Jane, Addie E.L.(twin), Alice E.G.(twin), Alice M. REUBEN BROWN was found in the 1850 Wilkinson Co, MS Census living with his mother, ELIZABETH BROWN 50 F MS, MARY 28 F MS, Wm J. 24 M MS, REUBEN 23 M MS, JANE 18 F MS. JOHN MELVIN BROWN, son of Reuben & Elizabeth KING BROWN b. 28 June 1870, Gloster, Amite Co, MS; d. 26 July 1948, Wauwatosa, Milwaukee Co, WI; m. CORRINE BLALUCK, 22 June 1896, Woodville, MS. They had seven sons: Emerson Mirth, Edgar Lafayette, Elmer Burnet, HURSEL ROBERTSON Twin (MY FATHER), Russell Lee Twin, Henry Grady, and John Milton.
