I thought I had sent a message concerning this Corps of Engineers website concerning the Mississippi River. I don't have time to go through it all, but, if one is curious enough-- _http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/pao/History/MRnames/MRnamesTOC.htm_ (http://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/pao/History/MRnames/MRnamesTOC.htm) An e-mail correspondent sent the URL to me in response to my remark about my ancestor having paid taxes on Island No. 2 [Hickman Co., KY prior to 1838, the year he died] but the Island has disappeared. Old Kentucky maps held by the Kentucky Historical Society show the island, but current ones do not. I don't see anything about a lighthouse in the table of contents, but perhaps with a little help from other landmarks, one may find a reference to a lighthouse. E.W.Wallace E.W.Wallace
