    3. The following web site tells about a light house near Natchez manned by Joseph Bowman from 1828-1840 when it was destroyed by a tornado. It probably was a very simple affair--just something to warn the boaters on the river. Annie may have been the "keeper" of the lighthouse. Unfortunately, I can not give any dates. I believe that Annie Mills would have been alive about 1880 to 1920. She may have had some connection to the Kings and Vines in Wilkinson County. 1. Re: [MSWILKIN] More on the lighthouse
    2. I appreciate all of the responses to my request. So far, I have not located anything in the area of Fort Adams. A little while ago I located my topographical maps that were missplaced during a recent move. I do see several lights indicated in the bend of the river near Fort Adams. This makes me certain that a light of some sort did exist in the area. I have not contacted the Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg or the MS Dept. of Archives and History but will do so. A trip down to Fort Adams could produce something also. You know that it is a challenge like this that makes historical and genealogical research so interesting. I know all of you out there understand this and have faced it many times. Thanks again for helping me with this.
