They had a child among their children named after his father, William Morgan Nettles, b. 1851. who later married Mary Roland, 1881 The first abovementioned Wm Morgan Nettles first married Elizabeth Ashley, 1809. His second marriage was to Parthena Rowan, 1825. The William Thomas Nettles mentioned above, son of Wm and Elizabeth Ashley, first married an Elizabeth Ashley (cousin) in 1843. This Elizabeth died and his second marriage was to Sarah Ann Owens and they named one of their sons, William Morgan Nettles. I would still hope the future may hold a meeting with you and my father and me and anyone else interested, if we can arrange it. I would like to try again. It would have to be March or later, when we can have nicer weather and trek to the cemeteries. Is there a chance? And I know that my great-great grandfather Wm Thomas Nettles handed boards up to his grandfather Ashley, building the Hopewell Church, as his grandfather Isham Nettles spread the gospel throughout Louisiana. Hi Tina, As far as we have it, yes. The first Wm "Morgan" Nettles we spoke of married Elizabeth Ashley, both born South Carolina and their son, William "Thomas, " raised with the Ashley grandparents, grew up to marry an Elizabeth Ashley.
