Gober and an McKay woman. Uncle Cunny [Charles, the youngest son] refered to her as Grandma McKay and did not know her first name. She died when David was 2. David's father died when he was 5, leaving him to be raised by his grandmother, the former Ann McCauley who md. Henry Gober in Franklin co. MS. Ann was from Amite co. MS. David died when Charles was 12, Laura Annie died when Charles was 7. David and Laura had the following children: 1. William Henry Gober who md. Lela Maud Brown, they had six children, some still living last time I heard. 2. Almeta Adrishi Gober who md. 1st George Neal Ashley md. 2nd. Joseph Charlie Clark they had two children md. 3rd. Oscar Walker they had one child 3, Janie Adlina Gober md. Lonnie Nathan Ashley [my grandparents] they had 11 children, 10 living to adulthood 4. Dewitt Gober, killed in France in WWI 5. Charles Cunan Gober md. Susie Ann America Richardson they had no children of their own. Aunt Susie had 3 children by previous marriages and they raised me.
