    3. Virginia, You're right, don't think Martin knows his real age. But I do think the Martin Perry in 1870 Wilkinson Co. Census 1870 Wilkinson Co. Census Perry, Martin, 30, MW, farmer, $100/$150, MS --Caroline, 25, FW, keeping house, MS was married to a Caroline--Not Catherine. I can not find a marriage for him anywhere to a Caroline BUT I do think these are two separate women. Mainly because Martin didn't marry Catherine Sturdivant until 1872...and the above is the 1870 census. Also, look on the 1870 census again--Martin & Caroline are in household 1. But, in household #16 there is a Catherine Sturdivant, age 25 living with her mother Levicy and brother William H. Levisa (Levicy) was first married to Henry Oliver Sturdivant and 2nd married Joseph E. Price BUT, I guess that marriage didn't last long because it seems she took back her first married name. And Joseph E. Price is by himself in 1870 also. I THINK Martin was first married to Catherine Unknown in 1870, divorced her and married the above Catherine Sturdivant in 1872. Another reason, I think the above is in 1900 Wilkinson Co. Census... 1880 Wilkinson Co. Census, Perry, Caroline,WF, 32, SINGLE, housekeeper, MS, MS, MS --Minnie, WF, 12, daughter, MS, MS, MS --John M, WM, 9, son, MS, MS, MS --Sophronia, WF, 6, daughter, MS, MS, MS --Henry V.S., WM, 5, son, MS, MS, MS I believe this is the same Caroline Unknown that he divorced for Catherine Sturdivant. Notice she is listed as SINGLE. The only thing that throws a kink in this---is where was the daughter Minnie in the 1870 Wilkinson Co. Census--did they just miss her--she would have only been 2 years old??? I believe Minnie, age 12 and John M., age 9 to be the children of Martin Perry. But, I honestly believe Sophronia, age 6 and Henry V.S., age 5 to be Ogden's and the census taker ASSUMED them to be Perrys. Now what Ogden is the father--can't prove that either. The reason for this thought, is I believe the above Sophronia to be Ellen Sefronia Perry (Ogden) that married Thomas Duncan Ashley Oct. 10, 1893. Remember, in Thomas Duncan Ashley's obit it said "He was the son of the late Willis and Louisa Ashley. In early life he was married to FRONIE OGDEN". Even though we both know on the marriage records it is stating her name as Perry. Now where Martin Perry and Catherine Sturdivant flew the coop to in 1880--don't know--can't find them. But, of course this all speculation--I need some documentation--and it could start with finding a divorce paper for Martin and Catherine in Wilkinson County--will do my level best to see what I can find.
