    1. Re: [MSWILKIN] Update
    2. Could Wm. McCrony have been deceased, instead of Lucretia his daughter? Hubbard may have 1) been either Lucretia's stepfather or 2) a relative on the mother's side--or??? If you can find Lucretia's marriage bond (I believe some of them have been filmed by LDS, but more research is needed to determine what years), it may state whether anyone gave consent--that is if she were underage. Some deeds of later years may show her selling off any real estate she may have inherited. Court records may reveal some info about guardianship. (The state was interested in protecting the property--not the physical state of the child.) My reading of a few records of Wilkinson Co. ca 1820-1830 indicate some wonderfully involved family relationships. The guardianship records may reveal more--such as in court records. Thanks for sharing these tidbits with us. I find that the men in some of my early Wilkinson Co. families (mainly Keller and Scott of adjoining Feliciana Parish) died off at rather young ages, leading to remarriages of the widows and entangled guardianships of the minor children.
