One of my brick walls is my great-grandmother, Cathering "Kate" Vining (Rev. Uriah Vining line) who married a William J. Hawkins in Wilkinson County on December 4, 1865. She later married James McCaa (of East Baton Rouge Parish) in Wilkinson County on April 29, 1871. I have not been able to find any records for W. J. Hawkins, birth, death, etc. James McCaa left Kate after they lived in East Baton Rouge Parish and family lore mentions that he went back to Mississippi and was never heard from again. My grandfather McCaa was born in Fort Adams so I assumed that they lived in that area. I have not been able to find any information, census, death, etc., about James either.
