We are researching Daniel Tousinau and his family. Daniel married Mary Ann Moore widow of Calvin Moore on 19 Oct 1852. She died in 1854. After her death he married Elizabeth Jackson McCartney widow of Lewis McCartney. In the probate records for Mary Anne Moore Tousinau is states that she had 3 daughters by her husband Calivn Moore. Their names were H Catherine Moore, Sarah E Moore and Mary A Moore. It also gives Robert and Elizabeth Simms as guardians of the children. Could these be relatives? Daniel and Mary Ann had no children that I can find. We descend from his marriage to Elizabeth through their son William Daniel Tousinau. We would like to find out what happened to the children and what Mary Ann Moore Tousinau's maiden name was. We know that Daniel was married while still living in LA., as his land patent application shows that he was a man with wife and child. We have not been able to find a death record for the wife or the child in Point Coupee Parish where his land was or West Feliciana Parish where we feel he was married. He shows up in Wilkinson Co on the 1850 census. We think his wife in LA was named Margaret Fauner. Also we are looking for any documentation that shows that his first name was William. Every thing we have found in court records in LA and MS show him as Daniel. There is no mention of his name being William Daniel. We are also still searching for information on the parents of Sarah Cornelia Owens who married William Daniel Tousinau, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Tousinau. Her father was James Jackson Owens and according to her death certificate her mother was Nancy Calcote. We have found her listed as Emma Sarah, but have not been able to find any other documentation other than Sarah Cornelia Owens Tousinau's death certificate for the first name of her mother. I am trying to find out if John Calcote and Franky Johnson were the parents of Nancy/Emma Sarah Calcote (whatever her first name really was). Any push in the right direction to document her first name and her parents would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Billy Tousinau
