To the Honorable the judge of the Fifteenth Judicial District of Louisiana, sitting in and for Calcasieu Parish: The petition of Mrs. Hattie V. Anderson, widow of John R. Carter, of Calcasieu Parish, with respect represents: That John R. Carter departed this life at his domicile in the town of Jennings, on November 23, 1911; that he left a last will and testament in the olographic form, dated March 16, 1911, which is hereto attached, by which the said deceased bequeathed to his major children, hereinafter named, his entire interest in and to all real estate owned by him (description of property)…and to your petitioner and to his minor children, Elizabeth and Gibson Carter, issue of his marriage with your petitioner, the remainder of his property, both real and personal, also (description of property) Petitioner further represents the said J.R. Carter, in addition to the above children, left the following major children, issue of his former marriage with Mrs. Mollie Germany, to-wit: Robert M. Carter and John C. Carter, of Calcasieu Parish, La., J.M. Carter, of Stanford, Texas, Hattie Carter, wife of L.C. Bates, of Knoxville, Tenn., Mattie Carter, wife of H.A. McWorkman, of Clarksburg, MO., Herbert A.
