    3. Virginia, I do believe the descendants of John D Ashley show up in the B category in the DNA project.My Ashleys are in group B. John,Thomas and Robert Ashley are "supposedly" in my line of Ashleys going back to John Ashley and Sarah Whitmel Harrington in Orangeburg -SC. I truly believe your statement on the naming of the boys, first name of a male elder, the second being one the family liked. In my family,my grandfather was James Thomas, two of his sons were James Thomas Junior and -James Sheridan. The last boy,who it was hoped would be a girl ,was named Ellis Estes, that being the closest to his mother, Ella Estelle. -Thanks for all of your replies.
