Lewis sheriff 11 April 1836 Page 1 Inventory and Appraisement of the estate of R. A. Foster, deceased, returned to court and approved. Ordered that Rivers Richardson, Jesse Jones, John B. Anderson & Bythal Haynes be appointed appraisers of the estate of John Germany, deceased. A. Partial settlement of the estate of William Phipps Dec. was presented to the court by the adm. Which was examined, allowed and ordered to be recorded. Ordered that the adm. of Wm Phipps do sell all his stock of cattle belonging to said estate on a credit of six months complying in all respects with the statement inn such case made and provided. On the application of Thomas S. Newman ordered that letters of adm granted for estate of Nancy Hunter, bond of five thousand dollars with Samuel Dawson and William James as his securities. Ordered that William Scott, Hampton Courtney & Samuel Dawson be appointed appraisers on the estate of Nancy Hunter dec Instrument in writing purported to be the numcupative Will of Guilford, D. D. Foster was presented in open court. Proven by oath of R. H. Thomkins & David D. Gibson witnesses. On the application of John A. Gibson & M. E. Saunders, ordered letters of administration of estate of Guilford D. D. Foster dec'd. Bond of twelve thousand dollars with William T. Mayes and Thomas S. Herbert according to law William Tigner, Robert Norwood, William S. Bush, Reuben M. Newman & Howell Moreland, be appointed appraisers on the estate of Guilford D. D. Foster, deceased Ordered that this court do now adjourn until tomorrow morning ten O'clock A. Partial settlement of the estate of Harris Anderson dec'd was returned to court, examined, allowed and ordered to be recorded. Account of sales of the real and personal property of Abram Iler, decd, returned to court by Adm. Which was examined allowed and ordered to be recorded. A partial settlement of the estate of the minor heirs of K. Holliman, dec'd was presented to court by their guardian which was examine allowed and ordered to be recorded An a/c of sales of thirty five slaves belonging to the estate of William C. Connell one of the minor heirs of K. Holliman dec'd was returned to court which was examined allowed and ordered to be recorded An account of sales of the tract of land belonging to the estate of Kinchen Holliman dec'd called China Grove together with the stock of Cattle, hogs, horses, utencils kitchen furniture, corn fodder & was returned to court which was examined allowed and ordered to be recorded. A final settlement of the estate of Michael Murphrey dec'd was presented to court which was examined allowed and ordered to be recorded [adm. Allowed 10 per cent commission on inventory Ordered that the final settlement of the estate of Robert James deceased be continued until the June Term of this court. Final settlement of the estate of Asa Sapp be continued until next term In the matter of Dower of Elizabeth Kirkham ordered that the same be continued until the next term of this court. A partial settlement of the estate of Henry Laws dec`'d was presented to court by John W. Hart examined allowed and ordered to be recorded. Account of sales of the Perishable property of John W. Hart dec'd was returned to court which was examined allowed and ordered to be recorded. A partial settlement of the estate of Thomas Wilkinson was presented to court by his guardian which was examined allowed and ordered to be recorded. Page 3 Pettition of John L. Wall & George H. Gordon executors of the estate of Abram Quine deceased ordered that petition be granted and said executors be authorized and directed to sell said Negro Dave mentioned in said petition at private sale for the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars. Ordered that court adjourn until tomorrow. Page 3 April 13 1836 John Hope guardian of minor heirs of Isaac I. Ogden deceased. -to sell at public auction to the highest bidder -all the right title and interest of said minor heirs in and to the one undivided tenth part of sixty six & two thirds acres of land being that part of a tract of land of 200 acres formerly belonging to Lewis Ogden decd which was laid off and set apart to Elizabeth Ogden the widow of said James Ogden as her dower A dividend having been struck on the estate of Edward Watkins deceased by the court amounting to sixty one and one half cents in the dollar on the claimes reported by the commissioner on the said estate. It is therefore ordered that A. H. Chambers administrator of the Estate of said deceased do pay over to the several claimants this amount of their dividends as stated in said dividend struck, it being at the rate of sixty one & ½ cents in the dollar. Adam H. Chambers Adm De bonis non of the Estate of Adam Hope deceased having at this term amd a final settlement of said estate shewing a balance on said estate after paying all the privelieged claims against said estate of one thousand two hundred and eight dollars & thirty seven & one half cents and proven the report of the commissioners of insolvency and it appearing that the claims against said Estate amount to the sum of three thousand six hundred and ninety four dollars and seventy six cents. It is ordered that said admn de bonise non pay over to the said claimants respectively at the rate of thirty two cents on the dollar upon their respective claims. Page 4 A final settlement of the estate of Adam Hope deceased was presented and recorded. Court adjourned until tomorrow April 14 1836 William Cozzee Having petitioned the court for citations to Issue to all persons interested in the lands tenements ---of ROBERT ANDERSON deceased, to appear at this term shew why said lands should not be sold to make distribution among the several heirs and no person objecting to the same it is there fore ordered that DAVID POLL Admr of said estate sell all the lands tenements & hereditaments described in said petition belonging to said deceased on a credit of twelve months - Partial settlement of the estate of JOSEPH A. FARRISH dec state to the court that the claim of REYNOLDS MARSHALL & Co., Page 22 Amounting to about 6787 against said estate had been presented to him shortly after granting the letters of adm to him and reportedly afterwards within 18 months from the time of granting said letters to him and he had acknowledged the said account and sworn to in open court. The reading of the foregoing affidavit was objected to by JOHN SIMS counsel but the objection was overruled by the court. Ordered that the estate of E. T.
