    2. I have been involved in the Shelton DNA case study since 2001. We use Family Tree DNA as well. The cost is less if you are a part of a group. Lucy, as a female, you could entice a tester by offering to help pay for the cost. If you get a whole lot of cousins together, you may get others to help as well. I got enough cousins to pitch in for someone connected to my lines to test that we each ended up paying only about 20 dollars each. It made it easier on the tester and he also pitched in 20 dollars. I wish I could have gotten my brother to test prior to his death.
