I would like to know where he came from. He is later than our John Thompson (1763-1846), who came from Barnwell District to Amite Co. in 1810. That Thompson family had gone to Barnwell District in the mid-1790's from Halifax Co., NC. I have been to the old John Thompson family cemetery out in the woods west of Liberty, MS, and his tombstone is still there.
