    3. I am not sure which John Perry this would be. I find only one adult John Perry in the 1850 and 1860 census and that is the John Perry, son of George Perry, Sr., who left a will dated 23 Feb 1881. This may have been the John Perry thought to be the brother of George Perry, SR and son of Job Perry. We will certainly have to do more research before identifying this person: Loose Probate papers, Wilkinson county, MS filed under Perry [extracted: not word for word] JOHN PERRY late of said county departed this life 22 June 1866, having no will. left no estate except a land warrant of the US government for 160 acres issued him for military service, 21 April 1856. There never having been any administration on the estate of deceased----- There are so many heirs that it is very difficult for them legally to sell & request permission to sell the land--- Publisher asks to be appointed special administrator. 20 Dec 1877. 2. Virginia Ewing
    3. the divorce below seems to disprove some of the stories I have heard about a child being born to David Perry and Mary Ansbelle Anders. I have heard the story from many folks and have no idea how it got started. If Dave had a child it would have had to be with wife number 3 who died in childbirth. Maybe the child survived for a few years. Stories sometimes get changed through the years. Court documents are there for any who care to read them. DAVID C. PERRY vs MARY A. B.PERRY Divorce: summons to Mary A. B. Perry issued 30 Aug 1876 md. lic to David C. Perry & Mary A. B. Anders issued 18 Nov 1865 md. 23 Nov 1865 by John Ashley JP md. lic to Richard Tillery & Mary A. Perry issued 24 Nov 1870, while she was still the lawful wife of David C. Perry & they reside out of this state and David Perry did not know where they lived. William Sturdivant: witness: Knew Dave about 28 years and Mary 10 years. Both lived with their fathers until the marriage and with Dave Perry's father after the marriage. They lived together about 3 months. She went back to her father's after leaving Dave until 1870 when she married Richard S. Tillery and they lived in the county about 8 months before moving to Franklin co. MS where they lived about 12 months, then moved to Illinois where they where still living to his knowledge. David Murray witness: Knew Dave Perry about 23 years and Mary A. B. about 12 years. I knew Mary before she was married. She went back to her father & lived with him until she married Rich'd Tillery & lived with R. Tillery about 12 months in this county then moved to Franklin co. MS with Tillery & lived about 12 months there, then they moved to Illinois where she has married according to my last information she still resides. David lived with his father in Wilkinson county, MS 1 0 Oct 1876 Adam Sturdivant & R. Darrington also testified of the above. Final decree filed 27 April 1877

    3. Brenda, James Arthur Brown is my grandfathers brother. Charles Edward Brown, my grandfather, married Elizabeth Shropshire, Wiley's sister. I think James is buried next to his brother Tom Brown in the Leake/Cavin cemetary. I will look at my information to make sure. I do have a picture of his tombstone as I was there this summer with my father. I have just got back in town so it may take me awhile but I will find it. 2. I have a wee suggestion on the Paris person. It's only a guess, but "Paris" might be "Pares" found in both Wilkinson and the Felicianas. This is probably redundant but the pronunciation is "Peres/Perez. You know, in some circles, (heard in our local Library by other Ms researchers) it's said you simply can't be from Ms without a Netterville or a Shropshire in your tree somewhere. Excuse the bit of wimsy-if I have one, I'll rely on you two.
