My Jackson family is white and from back in the early 1800's Wilkinson County, Ms. George Jackson married my gr.gr.gr. grandfather (Austin Coates) sister Rebecka Coates October 20, 1814. Do you know when your Jackson's show up in Wilkinson County,Ms.? The Jackson's came to Mississippi from South Carolina before 1809. George Jackson's parents are Thomas Jackson and Jamima?? I haven't found anything on his parents. George had a sister named Mary Jackson . She married David Bailey March 5,1809 in Wilkinson County,Ms. I'm not sure if this helps. Virginia, I would be interested in James Raoul's probate record. This is my fourth great grandfather. Also, I would be interested in the information on William Stewart. I think that this is my third great grandfather in another line. These are in my mother's lineage. Thanks for the information that you have retrieved from Probate Records in Wilkinson County. in the list of names I put [Causey] at the side of William Cozzee, as I thought that might have been the correct spelling. Looking though Mrs. Wiese's book "The Woodville Republican" I find William CIZZEE md Mrs. Jane Anderson, 10 Dec 1838. April 7, 1837 Jane Cizzee was the adm'rx of Harris Anderson estate.

I have extracted the 1836 probate but it is too large to send to the list. I went through and made a list of all the names and how they appeared, as deceased, administers, bond/securities, witnesses, guardians, heirs, and so on. The list of names my be too large to send to the list but I will see. If you see one of your names on the list, let me know and I will send all that I have on that name to your home e-mail. Virginia
Hi, There is a George Jackson 10 yrs of age in the 1880 Woodville census. The African American Jackson family I am researching ... My Great Uncle George is the son of James and Mary Jackson, his siblings are Henry, Beuargard (my great grandfather), Amanda, Melissa, Johnie, Ida Mary, Laura and Alfred. I haven't gotten deep into researching my Jackson line yet! They are next on the rotation system I use. Is this the same Jackson line you are researching? Searching and Searching despite the brick walls I keep hitting. Pat

I think someone is reading a simple question into a criticism and nothing could be farther from the intention. I understand the Digest' numbering system, have been receiving and appreciating for years. My question had to do with numbers interspersed with the Brendy Whites very generous infomation in Vol. #4; Issue #4. The first line reads as follows: "Estate of P.H. McGraw=85on the ____day of Sept. 1906 he died intestate. Nat Hutchinson, John Hutchinson, Paul Huff and Whitney Stuart=20appraisers." All I wanted to know was what the numbers, as in =85 after Mr. McGraw's name and after Whitney Stuart=20 represented.
