By any chance do you have information on Johnnie Rivers-my grandfather he was born 5/1/1904-Florence,AL such as school records, baptism,employment,marriage,etc. I don't have an obituary on them or him yet. I don't have much information on this family,since they are on my paternal side. They were never brought up in family conversation. Here's what I found out thus far. Roll 24-Book 1-pg.319 2nd Ward-Florence ED56 Lines 2-5 from 1900 AL Census-Florence (Lauderdale County) lists: Robert born 10/1876,age 23,married 3 years,born in Miss(Mississippi or Missouri?). Parents from Miss. Occupation: Laborer. Owns home. Rebecca wife born 2/20/1878,age 22,2 children born/living,born in Miss. Father from AL. Mother born unknown. Alberta (daughter),born 10/1897,age 2,born in Miss. Robert McKinley born 8/1899,age 8 months, born in Miss. I do know that these children were born after 1900: Johnnie "John" born 5/1/1904-AL; died: 12/1960. Herman N. born 4/28/1906-AL;died: 2/23/1973-IL. Hazel M. born 12/15/1907-AL Henry M. born 3/11/1911-AL;died: 8/23/1987-IL. Rebecca maiden name was BREWER. Her father was Buchanan Brewer-AME Minister. She died 11/3/1923-Chicago,IL. She is buried at Lincoln Cemetery,along with Herman,Henry and Juanita-Johnnie widow. In 1920 IL Census-Chicago,COOK,IL lists: R162 Volume 35 ED 160 Sheet1 Line62 Head of Household: Rivers,Robert Color:Mu Age:43 Birthplace:MS Street: Evans Ave House Number: Name Relationship Age Birthplace Rebecca W 40 AL James S 21 AL Johnnie S 17 AL Herman S 14 AL Hazel D 10 AL Henry S 8 AL Any and all information is appreciated.
