Hi list members, I am trying to find out what happened to John Robert Weissinger, Jr. after he shot his father's killer. John Robert, Sr. had just moved to Washington County to oversee his plantation near Trail Lake (now called Tralake). He got into a dispute with a tenant, J. O. Johnson, over wages to the workers. Johnson killed John Robert, Sr. John Robert, Jr. shot at Johnson and he was thought to be fatally wounded. Did Johnson die? Was John Robert, Jr. charged with murder? What happened to the plantation? John Robert, Sr. died July 25, 1911. Any help much appreciated!
