    3. Howdy Ma, I'm looking specifically for Emedicus (Emeticus) Murphey, who owned half of the "Bass-Murphey Place", a plantation on Lake Jackson? in Washington Co. He died, apparently at the end of the war, 1865, possibly killed by the Union troops. He was about 60 years old at the time. His partner was Eugenia Bass (nee Bate) whose husband, Council R. Bass, died in Wash. Co. abt. 1854. She remarried an Italian Count, Bertinatti, and apparently cheated Emedicus' estate out of his share of the plantation, about $15,000. Emedicus is on the 1850 census. He may have been known as Doctor, though he wasn't a physician. Any help appreciated. Please visit my website for more than you care to know. thanks, Mark http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~freshnup/markmurph/ CajinCoon@aol.com wrote: > Hi all list Mom here > Would you please post some queries on some names you need help on. > Name, date , places are what information you have .
