List: this is a reply I recvd. from someone who has an interest in post office history. ...." Allen -- as best I can tell, you are correct. The one map that I have from 1883 shows Westburgh on what is now US 61. It appears to be just south of what is now Hollandale and just north of Percy even though neither one appears on the map. I haven't read the microfilm for Washington County in which the postmaster for each new post office gives the exact location of the office. I have only done Bolivar County so far. The map also indicates that Westburgh was on or very near Deer Creek. " ----------------------------- the info was sent to me by a Matt Dakin. Thanks Matt. AR./Greenville

Would any of those Allens have a relative or descendant by the name of Steve Bennet Allen dob abt dec. 1896 and served in the Army during WWI - its possible he was born in Madison Cty. I know he migrated to washington county - Leland MS and had children with Jean "pretty" Rawls. I have reached a dead end as no SS info. He died in Jackson MS approx 1956.
