My great grandfather, Charles Booker, owned land in this area and was also a Baptist Minster, his wife's name was either Emma or Emily. They had four children Charles Booker Jr. B-1890/ Yancey Booker B-unknown/ Emily and Alice Births's unknown. His son Yancey was killed in Chicago, and his son Charles was a musician who slowly migrated to New York. Charles is my grandfather. ] I contacted Jackson,MS to inquire about land records, I was able to find out that the area the family lived in was once known as Archer and Booker Town/ in 1908 a lady by the name of Kate C Archer named Booker Street. The Archer family Booker strret is a couple of blocks from where the Booker's once resided (Sidney Street) both street have the same zip code. The Archer family was fairly prominent in that area. I was able to contact the McCormick Book End, in Greenville. MS, also looking to find a book called ( History of Washington County, MS) according to owner the book is no longer in print. Anyone with any info on the Bookers in that area would glady appreciate your help.
