But, almost any Weissinger in the area is related. Unfortunately, we don't live any where near Mississippi. I have biographies of John Robert and William Strong Weissinger that were printed in Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Mississippi. I think this would be the source you are talking about. Interestingly, I have much information on past generations. But, nothing on John Robert, Jr. He seems to have died sometime after 1920. But, I don't know when or where. One cousin thought his body was brought back to Hernando for burial. But, he is not buried with other family members.

I thought I had a scatter-brained idea about DNA testing of unmarked graves for genealogical determination, but now I see their doing it with Christopher Columbus' brother. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=624&e=1&cid=624&u=/ap/20020917/ap_on_sc/spain_columbus__graves You wouldn't have to actually dig up the body, just do a small diameter sample core, after determining position of the remains with sonic or VLF radar. Same technology as the shotgun taking a picture of the buried dinosaur in the movie Jurassic Park (first). Then there are the ethical questions. How old is old enough for an archeological dig versus disturbing my relatives' remains? DNA is sometimes good for many hundred years. Sorry this is a bit off topic, but I think its a potentially important, albeit expensive, genealogical application. These lists need a little firing-up anyway. Princella Between 1809 and 1812 it appears to have been confined entirely within what is now Alabama. It was bounded on the north and east by the Treaty of Mt. Dexter boundaries and included the ca. N 1/2 of present day Washington County (the southern half of present day Wash. was for a long time Baldwin County, which has now moved completely away from its original site and is now located entirely east of the Mobile River and Mobile Bay), the southern half of Choctaw County and most of CLARKE COUNTY (east of the Tombigbee). This is from MISSISSIPPI: ATLAS OF HISTORICAL COUNTY BOUNDARIES, edited. by John H. Long, complied by Peggy Tuck Sinko, Simon & Schuster, 1993, page 199. between 1812 and 1817, when the Alabama Territory was formed, Washington County lost all of its land east of the Tombigbee River, leaving only the north half of present Washington and the south half of Choctaw.
