    3. Brenda, Thank you so much for responding. I am so anxious to find some info on this family. All I have is the write up in a history of Tish. Co. The slave girl was borrowed from a John M Nelson, a resident of Eastport, which couldn't have been too far from where the Longs lived. After Adeline killed Eliza Long, she ran to the house of a neighbor, James Conner and Mrs. Rebecca Aldridge and told them Mrs Long had burned to death. A large crowd assembled at the Long home. The crowd included, Jacob Haigh, JP. The witnesses in the case were Mrs Mary Conner, Mrs Rebecca Aldridge, German Powell, James Conner, Robert Hodges, Dr. Benjamin D Hodges. She was executed by William L Duncan, Sheriff. I hope some of these people are listed somewhere. Thanks again Susan Lane -----Original Message----- From: Brenda W. <brendaw@tsixroads.com> To: MSTISHOM-L@rootsweb.com <MSTISHOM-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, April 08, 2000 1:06 PM Subject: Re: [MSTISHOM-L] Long murder >Yes, I am familiar with the story of your Eliza Long and its place in one >of our history books.
