Hi, Tyra -- I have a George W. SHACKLEFORD, born 1849-1850 (based on census age) in MS. He was listed as age 5 months in the 1850 Tippah Co, MS census but I don't have the date of the census enumeration. He died before 18 May 1933. I don't have his wife's name but was wondering if this could be the George you mentioned. According to the info I have, this George W. SHACKLEFORD was son of John Joseph Jefferson "J.J." SHACKLEFORD and Rhoda Adeline JONES. I have only one other child's name, Margaret SHACKLEFORD, who was born 1847 (again, based on Tippah Co, MS census of 1850). The parents, J.J. & Rhoda, were married 29 September 1846. Apparently Rhoda died after having just the two children, and J.J. remarried on 13 December 1853 to Sarah "Sallie" LONG. Both marriages in Tippah Co, MS. I have 1850 for the death date of J.J.'s first wife, Rhoda. The SHACKLEFORDs are a collateral line for me -- some of the married into my TIGERT / TIGRET family -- so I don't have documentation on them, just information I've collected here and there.
