Sandford, William Burkley Published in: The Vidette Date of Publication: February 29, 1912 Killed By Lightning Little William Burkley Sandford, son of Gordon Sandford, deceased, was playing before the open fireplace, by the side of his uncle, Elton Wright, on Feb. 20th, when a flash of lightning came down the chimney, killing him almost instantly. Sweet little Burkley is no more; his spirit has gone to God who gave it. Weep not dear ones for he is at rest. Paden No. 1 There was a very sad occurrence a few miles west of Paden, on last Thursday afternoon. The little five year old son of Mrs. Doxie Ann Sandford was killed by a bolt of lightning. The little boy, together with some other children, was sitting in the house at the time. He died instantly.
