Corinthian Clippings for March 1982 BHS CHAPTER PREPARES Recently students from BHS Choir and instructor Idotha Morrison went to French Camp Academy for the North Regional tryouts for All-State Honor Choir. Two BHS students Gary Hickman and James West, were selected for the choir. The judges were interested in the following qualities: Reading ability, level of voice, sight reading, diction, and articulation. The required numbers included: (1) Dona Nobis Pacen by Haydn; (2) Flower of Beauty by Clements; (3) Sourwood Mountain by Flessinger; (4) God of Comfort, God of Courage by Chenoweth; (5) Joshua, by Luboff. The two students will be going to the Ole Miss Campus on April 23-24 to perform in a concert with the Mississippi All-State Choir. FFA PROVES SUPERIORITY ONCE AGAIN The FFA Chapter at Biggersville traveled to Itawamba March 10th for federation competition. We had teams in welding, tractor driving and maintenance, and tool identification. Eddie Clark proved to be the best tractor driver as he placed first with a perfect score. The FFA will enter district competition which will be held at Pontotoc April 3rd. They will have teams in opening, and closing ceremonies, tractor driving, and forestry. BURNSVILLE HONORS RELEASED There were 92 students achieving honor roll status at Burnsville school for the fourth six week grading period. Only ten of the students had straight A's. This list included second graders Monica Magill, George Rainey, Ciji Timbes; seventh grader Brian Barnes and from the eighth grade, Camille Belue, Marie Robinson and Tim Rhodes. Making all A's in the tenth grade were Dee Anna Brewer, Shirley Morris and Kathey Helton. These completed the list. Each class had students attaining the A's and B's status. Second graders were Mendy Belue, Kevin Blakney, Anna Bonds, Bradley Bonds, Peyton Cummings, Donnie Davis, Michael Odom and Kimberly Phifer. In addition, second graders on the list were Debbie Vandiver, Bridgett Williams, Michael Belue, Lisa Copeland, Tanya Hamm, David Harville and Ashley Johnson. Third graders on the list were Christie Glover, Andrea Osborn, Allison Osborn, Karen Williams, Terry West, Kellie Barnes, Michelle Busby, Jennifer Robinson and Jennifer Twitty. There were five students on the list from the fourth grade. They were Karen Hardwick, Mylinda Parson, Jeffery Loveland, Lisa South and Deanna Stidham. Six students made the list from the fifth grade. They were Stacie Barnett, Dana Calton, Melissa Seago, Debbie Twitty, Lisa South, Deanna Stidham. There were seven on the list from the sixth grade. They were Mitzi Jourdan, Craig Dailey, Tracy Osborn, Laura Clark, Brian Belue, Tracey Elliott, Lori Johnson. The seventh grade boasted 12 students on the A's and B's list. They were Betsy Barnes, Steven Bobo, Phillip Bonds, Kenneth Creasey and Kevin Creasey. Others were Candy Elledge, Ann Wright, Carolyn Vanderford, Sherry Stidham, Lynette Rorie, Lisa McGee and Dionne Hall. Four eighth graders made the list. They were Lisa Blakney, Ralph Brewer, Beverly Chase, Kim Lambert. Only one person in the freshman class made the list. She was Gail Gist. There were no straight A students. Sophomores and juniors at Burnsville both had six students on the honor roll. >From the sophomore class were Steve Adams, Kim Garrett, Janice Wood, Jeff Williams, Debra Wheeler and Greg Moore. >From the junior class were Angela Pyle, Janet Thorne, Wanda Arnold, Randy Dill, Lisa Gist and Clay King. The senior class had 11 names added to the honor roll. The list included Jeff McDuffy, Melissa Parsons, Harry Price, Vicki Bain, Bangela Burcham and Ann Burchamm.
