Anyone is welcome to view it at http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/ladyj Loranza Dow Holloway's mother, Martha Frances Thomas Holloway is the person who sold the land for the old Chapel Hill School and the Holloway School in Tishomingo Co., MS. The cost were $5.00 on Sept. 6, 1901 Chapel Hill School and $1.00 on Dec.17, 1908 for Holloway School . The community was at one time called "Holloway, Tishomingo Co., MS." Dora and Dow Holloway made their home in Tishomingo Co., MS. Martha and James Holloway's old home place is located just a short distance from Chapel Hill Church. The old home place is still being lived on by our family members, Mr. J.C. Johnson. I would like to say that at least 98 % on the information I have was given me by Juanita Holloway Augustine.She is the great granddaughter of Susan E. Blassingame and Sidney Hafford Carroll Holloway. **** On the Holloway side. Third Generation: James Holloway was born Oct. 13, 1840 in Morgan Co., Al. He died March 3, 1896 in Tishomingo Co., MS. He married Martha Frances Thomas , Daughter of Miles Thomas and Margaret Cowan, on Feb. 14, 1867 in Tishomingo Co., MS. She died Dec. 11, 1918 and both are buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Tishomingo Co., MS. They had the following children: i. Sidney Hafford Carroll Holloway was born in June 1869 and died in 1903. ii. William Parvo Holloway was born Feb. 14, 1871 and died on June 13, 1924. iii. Anna Holloway was born on Jan. 22, 1874 and died in 1911. iv. John M. Holloway was born about 1875 in Prentiss Co., MS. John M. appears on the 1880 Prentiss County Federal Census age 4 years. John must have died early as he is not shown in the 1900 census, and Martha states that she has seven children living at that time. v. Loranza Dow Holloway was born on Dec. 20, 1876 and died March 31, 1932. vi. Margaret A. Holloway was born in July 1879. vii. Isophena Alma Holloway was born on March 6, 1881 and died before 1904. viii. Isophena F. "Icy" Holloway was born on Aug. 12, 1884 and died on Jan. 18, 1914. On the Blassingame side: Fifth Generation: Dora Lee Blassingame was born September 24, 1872. She married Loranza Dow Holloway, son of James Holloway and Martha Frances Thomas on December 24, 1895 in Prentiss Co., Mississippi. Loranza was born December 20, 1876 and died March 31, 1932 and buried at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Tishomingo Co., Mississippi. They had the following children: i. Oscar M. Holloway was born about 1897 and died in 1952 ii. Clifton Loranzie "Tip" Holloway was born March 1, 1901 and died Jan 20, 1973. Clifton married Mary Lee Watson , born April 3, 1903 and died May 3, 1970. Both are buried Hopewell Church Cemetery in Alcorn Co., MS. iii. John Ray Holloway was born about 1904. He married Ethel. iv. Claudie Hafford Quinton Holloway was born Nov. 28, 1906 and died March 18, 1981. Quint married Dora Lee Higginbottam. Dora was born on Feb. 6, 1906. She died on Jan. 21, 1982 and both are buried at Lovejoy Church Cemetery. v. Eddie L. Holloway was born about 1909 in MS. He died Nov. 15, 1982 and was buried in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alcorn Co., MS. Eddie married Carrie Dee Green. vi. James Franklin Dock Holloway was born in 1911 and died in 1941. He married Nellie Pearl Ferrell in 1928.
