    3. Amen!! Pictures are the best way to preserve our history. Tombstones are proof that a person lived and died. Typed information is nice but as you said people do make mistakes. I have a question to ask and am not sure anyone can answer this one but will try. I am wondering since the WPA used to go out and type up names of people in cemeteries at one time why someone has not found the lists? Seems to me this might help for many of the tombstones that are missing because they have been either vandalized or ruined over time by Nature. Any thoughts on this? I too want to give my thanks to all the hard working volunteers who give their time in typing, copying information, driving to pick up papers when the court was going to throw them out, and for any other thing they do to make researching easier for those of us who do not live in the area. Thank you all. 3. Tim, first of all, I appreciate your thanks on maintaining our county records as I kept boxes and boxes of books, papers, etc. in my basement for years. In fact, Cindy Nelson and I kept all of them until the Archives became reality. Next, about the WPA, I have some years ago ordered and printed the microfilm roll of Tishomingo County WPA documentation. And, now, I have donated the microfilm roll to our Archives so that all can share. The Archives was very fortunate in receiving a personal donation which made the purchase of a microfilm reader/printer a reality at the Archives. However, the cemetery projects were not documented nor mentioned in our county WPA files. I realize that some counties were documented and that is wonderful. I, personally, have an ancestor who was buried way out in a field with a sandstone for a headstone. When I questioned the landowner about any sort of activity there, he said that he remembered the WPA coming out there and cleaning it up. Alas, tho, no record of such! Thanks for your interest in our county - and I hope that the pix of both ancestors and headstones becomes a reality!
