Brenda, I asked my daddy, Leon Bruton, about it. I remember Him talking about Tommy Dean and I remember also that the twin girls that married Deans that lived on Hwy 25 N of Iuka being some kin to him. Daddy said Tommy decided he wasn't much for the pro lifestyle and came back home. I had also asked Dad if he knew of a Dizzy connection and he didn't know of any, so much of my information was second hand. I did a little search of Dizzy's people and couldn't find anything except that Dizzy's people earlier were across the line in Alabama from Wiggins, MS. The Ancestry.com site had a tree that identified Dizzy's wife from the Wiggins area. As far as I know Tommy Dean and his folks live north of Iuka. The genealogy society needs to send someone to do an in depth interview with him! I live in Knoxville, TN now and have been gone from Tishomingo for almost 5 years. Miss it a lot! Rebecca
I concur. If Tommy is still living, someone from the historical society could ask him if he remembered plowing Charlie Streetman's cornfield a short while before Charlie died of cancer (June 10, 1972). Dad was taking care of him till he passed away. He took a leave of absence from his job in Franklin, Indiana to come down there until Charlie died.
