    3. I've been asked for additional information about the Paden/Pedens that settled in Old Tishomingo County, MS. I hope to get many of these descendants to South Carolina for the reunion. The Immigrants from Ireland of this family are buried here. You can visit their graves and the churches they established in the late 1700's. Visit the Peden Museum at Fairview Church. Tour the Revolutionary battlefields your ancestor fought on for our country's freedom. Many Tishomingo County natives are descended from these and other families that live in and around this area in South Carolina. If you know of descendents that are not on the mailing list, please pass the information along! The 2004 Peden Reunion will be held at Fairview Presbyterian Church near Fountain Inn, Greenville Co., South Carolina. This reunion is celebrated by the descendents of John Peden, born 1709 Antrim County, Ireland, and his wife, Margaret (Peggy) McDill, born August 1715, also in Antrim County, Ireland. Many of the houses intermarried (each child of John and Peggy McDill Peden is considered a House of this family, for example: I am of the House of William.). The town of Paden, MS in Tishomingo Co. gets its name from this family. The community of Peden in Kemper Co., MS is named after the Samuel Peden above. Pedens/Padens established Bethany Presbyterian Church in Tishomingo Co, MS, Smyrna Presbyterian Church in Kemper Co, MS and Fairview Church in Gwinnet Co, GA ****Cont'd from above WILLIAM, born 1749, m) Mary (Polly) Archer Most descendants settled in North MS, Particularly Tishomingo County, MS. Descendants established Bethany Presbyterian Church, just south of the town of Tishomingo. William Peden, a Revolutionary Soldier, died in 1817 and is buried at Fairview Presbyterian Church in SC. His wife, Mary Archer Peden and children left SC in 1833. (This immigration is shown in the record book at Fairview Church: "1833. Robert W. Peden, Dan Peden, David S. Peden (a brother-in -law), and Alexander Peden, along with their families, regularly dismissed. (Signed) Anthony Savage, Clerk of Session". These families, as well as others from Fairview, first went to Fayette County, Tenn where the mother, Mary, died and is buried at Bethany Cemetery there. The children later, and at different dates (Alexander the last), came to Old Tishomingo County, MS. They changed the spelling of their name from Peden to Paden. William and Mary's descendants now live all over North Mississippi.
