As an avid genealogist, I began an endeavor many years ago to collect as many family photos as possible. With the combination of all my families (Bostick, Daniel, Martin, Smith, and Borden), I have, by now, collected a few hundred old photos. These all relate to the above named families (including their allied families). It is my intent to compile all of these photos into an album which can be shared with others. There are wonderful old photos in my collection, and it is far too selfish of me to horde them and not share with others. I am, of course, merging the photos into their appropriate places within my family books which I am compiling. Other than via this method, does anyone have ideas for other ways to share? Also, is there any interest amongst Tishomingo Countian genealogists for creating a photo exchange? As the adage goes, "a picture tells a thousand words . . . ." The data itself tells us a lot, but the pictures actually seem to make those folks come alive. Wanda
I am interested in your Daniel pictures. Please contact me at [email protected] I have tintypes from Baldwyn of Daniel members that I do not recognize. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, July 11, 2004 6:02 PM Subject: [MSTISHOM-L] PHOTOS > As an avid genealogist, I began an endeavor many years ago to collect as many > family photos as possible. Which Borden's are you related to? Have you made any connection back to Robert Borden and Jane Fowle of New Jersey in 1600's? They settled there from Kent County, England. I'm descended from John Bozarth who married Innocent Borden. Their son Joseph Bozarth settled in Kentucky in the late 1700's from Monongalia Co VA (now WV). There are two places on the web that are already set up for sharing old photos. One is called Ancient Faces, and the other is called Dead Fred. The websites are at: http://www.ancientfaces.com/ http://www.deadfred.com/ Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, July 11, 2004 6:02 PM Subject: [MSTISHOM-L] PHOTOS > As an avid genealogist, I began an endeavor many years ago to collect as many > family photos as possible. Janet, I went to the first site and typed in "Tishomingo" and found a pix that Chuck Floyd had submitted. This is great but I still think a specific one for our county would be great, huh?
