Is anybody researching the John L. Hodge family? John Lemual Hodge was born in 1861 in Alabama. I understand his father was James Pinkney Hodge. Census records from 1900 through 1920 show John L. Hodge and his family in Tishomingo County. I"m trying to prove a relationship between this family and my 3rd greatgrandmother, Sarah Hodge, who also came from North Carolina as did the Hodge line. The Cora Hodge I spoke of in an earlier message was the daughter of James Lemuel Hodge. Cora married Virgil Hanks and they were living in Tishomingo County in 1920. Billie in Memphis
Billie, This is my husbands line I am working on. I haven't been researching long so you probably have more than me but I will be glad to share what I have. I do have that Pinkney Hodge was married to Susan Mahalia Pounders (B:May 17, 1842-Franklin Co. AL, D: May 17, 1923 in Tish. Co. and Marriage date about 1860). Then she married a Ramsey. My father-in-law remembers his mother talking about Pinkney Hodge (her Great Grandfather). I can ask if there is something or someone specific he might remember.
