Hi, Carol -- I don't know if this will help you but I have this listed in my database. Marriage in Itawamba Co, MS of William Blake SEARGEANT (b. 1831) and Arminta RANKIN. I have no further info on Arminta. William was son of James E. SEARGEANT and Mary Fanny EMBREY who were married in 1824 in Franklin Co, TN. I have not verified all the information on this line. Mary Fanny EMBREY was a sister of my 3rd great grandmother, Nancy EMBREY and they were daughters of Reuben & Nancy (UNKNOWN) EMBREY. The SEARGEANT children's birthdates range from 1825 to 1831 (I don't have even a birth year for all of the, though). Some of their birthdates seem awfully close together, too. WILKERSON (no further on kids) Temperance died in Franklin Co, TN at the age of two months. Carol, I don't know if this spelling is the usual one for this family. I've had this info for years (before I was more careful about sources) and I don't remember where it came from -- maybe a census for some of it -- but probably from another EMBREY researcher. I have families in several n.e. MS counties: Tippah, Tishomingo, Prentiss, Union and a few individuals listed with references to Marshall, Itawamba, etc. I've spent most of my time on my direct lines and haven't gone farther with this line.
