    1. Re: [MSTISHOM] SURNAMES
    2. James Madison Daniel
    3. I am working on the John DANIEL family of Old Tishomingo County. Relocated there from Wayne County TN before 1850. Spouse Nancy HOLMES issue Calvin M, Nancy Lillian, Elizabeth Catherine, William Green, James Madison, Mary Elizabeth, Lucinda, John Buckley, Tennessee and Sarah were all counted on 1850 and 1860 census reports. John and his son Calvin are buried in the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery on hiway 30. James Madison owned this property or the farm just across the hiway to the south prior to the war. William Green owned a farm in Blackland to the north. I have information on the family except for Tennessee (lost after 1860 census) Sarah ( lost after the 1860 census) and Nancy HOLMES DANIEL ( lost after the 1860 census) Nancy may have married an ESTES and relocated to IL, however no proof. This family and their spouses and children all attended Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church iaw church and School records. After the war most of the family relocated to Cooke County TX area where they are counted in 1870 along with other farmers from the Geeville MS area. All went in a wagon train pulled by oxen. If anyone has any information for this family please contact jdan@shreve.net. I really would like to know who Tennessee, Sarah and the Widow Nancy married or where they are buried. Thanks again. Family married BREWER, SIMMONS, RAGAN, BALL, McSHANN, WATTS, and THORNE.
