Hi ya'll :) Searching of any records of James Monroe Farris killing his brother-in-law Robert N. "Bud" Pounder/Ponder in about 1856 in Tishomingo County. Bud was married to Jane Turner, sister of James Monroe's wife Nancy Catherine Turner. They were the daughters of Mastin Turner and Nancy Hargus. Have heard many different versions of what happened and would like to know the truth of the matter. The family tale is that James Monroe "Munn" Farris was acquitted. Would like to have some sort of documentation about this story. James Monroe Farris quickly moved to Searcy County, AR after this happened. I wonder if he was acquitted why the quick move?
